Flame of the Forest is called Dhaak, Tesu, Palaash in Hindi, Palash in Bengali, Assamese and Marathi, Khaakharo or Khakar in Gujrati, Tesh in Punjabi, Moduga in Telugu, Samithu,Purasu in Tamil, Plashu, Chamath in Malayalam, Muttug, Muttulu, Muttugathoras, Muttugu-mara in Kannada. In Sanskrit, it is called Kinsuka, Raktapuspaka. In Oriya, we call it Palash too.In English, it is generally known as Flame of the forest or Parrot tree.
The Botanical name is Butea Monosperma.
